ORGANIC, WARM, & NEUTRAL: INSPIRED BY THE DESIGNS OF LAUREN LIESS

Lauren Liess is a designer whose blog I've followed for years, always enjoying her candid sharing about her design process and the evolution of her own home.  If you follow her you know that she and her family bought a big and sort of funky 1970s house in desperate need of an update, and it's been interesting to see what they were doing to it. The final "reveal" came in the latest issue of Domino magazine, and it's everything I knew it would be!

Lauren's style is very warm, relaxed, and rooted in nature.  Organic shapes, textures, and patinas rule the day, and her own line of fabrics play a big part in this look.

All those beautiful wood shelves were created with Ikea butcher block counter top material!

More shelving made with Ikea butcher block countertops ... beautiful and cost effective!

Parting shot: a leafy, rustic outdoor shower they created from scratch off the master bedroom.

I'm off and running this Monday morning ... hope your week begins well!

I'm especially taken with the bedroom photo. It's divine! But the whole house is TDF.
